A Service Provider of Hi-5 ABA

Scissortail Therapy Services, LLC

At Scissortail Therapy Services, our mission is to provide effective, compassionate, and individualized therapy services for our families. Our goal is to help each child increase adaptive skills, help caregivers learn skills to improve outcomes, and to make a positive impact in the world of ABA and autism.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) most often begins with an autism diagnosis, though some other diagnoses may trigger qualification for ABA services (depending upon insurance provider coverage). The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will conduct an Initial Assessment, which requires the attendance of both the client and a caregiver.

What To Expect

The BCBA will then develop a preliminary treatment plan and submit it to the client’s insurance carrier for approval. Once an insurance authorization is obtained (typically for a six-month period), the Orientation to Services is scheduled and conducted for the client and caregivers. Introduction to the Technician(s) may occur at the Orientation to Services or shortly thereafter.

A schedule for sessions is determined based on the client’s unique needs and includes regularly scheduled parent/caregiver meetings. Sessions primarily involve a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) running programs specified in the treatment plan and documenting data on those programs. Behavior Analysts will supervise all direct therapy at a minimum of 10% of weekly hours; however, this is also determined on an individual basis.

About Us

Applied Behavior Analysis is a research-based, data-driven approach toward helping people and organizations improve human behavior. ABA is especially applicable to children with autism, assisting them to better communicate, acquire social skills, and develop appropriate behavior. Services begin with an initial assessment and orientation to services performed by a BCBA. The client must be present for both meetings. After the initial assessment, the analyst will design a treatment plan and apply for authorization from an applicable insurer.

During Orientation, the behavior analyst and parent(s) will plan a weekly treatment schedule. The number of direct therapy hours recommended per week depends on the client’s needs and is implemented substantially by behavior technicians under the behavior analyst’s direction. The behavior analyst provides specific instruction to the behavior technicians, performs on-site supervision, and modifies the treatment plan as progress occurs. Reassessment and reauthorizations typically occur every six months if continued services remain necessary.
