Athena Behavior Analysis
Maureen earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame with a focus in Accounting. After an eight-year commitment to the field of accounting, she decided it was time to pursue her true passion for helping children with autism achieve their potential by providing the tools they need to thrive. Her vision is for every child with autism in her community to have a life that fits. A life that fits their individual needs.
When Maureen first entered the field of ABA, she provided research assistance for six months to a Ph.D. candidate at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore. Then she was hired as an ABA therapist at the Aurora School where she was assigned one student. She quickly rose in the ranks of ABA therapists and was promoted to Program Director where she worked with 13 young adolescents with special needs, their staff, and their parents.
Maureen has worked in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) since 2012 and received a Masters of Science in ABA from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in October of 2017. She sat for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst exam in May of 2018 and was licensed as an LBA in Virginia in August of the same year. She is authorized to supervise RBTs and BCaBAs. She has six years of experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), in addition to other disabilities such as Fragile-X Syndrome, Intellectual Disabilities, Developmental Delays, and Cerebral Palsy.
